- Developing contract documents
- Generally providing procurement consultancy support and guidance throughout the process
The College went through a compliant process in line with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR 2015 regulations) and the result was the appointment of an experienced supplier that could deliver the requirements of the College.
Andrew’s expertise and diligence during the tendering process, from the start to the awarding of the contract, was invaluable in getting the project procured. Andrew provided in-depth reports to the CEO and governors on the tender process, outcomes and rationale in the appointment of the ‘winning’ contractor. His assistance made the process easy and understandable. Andrew’s willingness to be involved above and beyond his remit makes him a pleasure to work with. I look forward to our next project.”Nick Clemens | Deputy Head of Estates and Facilities
Andrew’s work on our recent tender for a complete roof replacement was remarkable. Initial tender responses were several hundred thousand pounds over the approved budget, even with a buffer for inflation. Andrew worked tirelessly with suppliers, contractorsChris Harris | Head of Estates & Facilities, South Devon College
,and the roofing framework provider to reduce their costs without lowering the quality or specification and brought the project back to the initial budget. He also went as far as contacting both the roofing specification provider and the solar pv supplier to come together and provide a joint solution to mount the panels whilst still being able to maintain the guarantee for the roof, ease installation of panels and reduce weight on the roof by moving from a weighted down application to a fixed bracket system that is approved by the roofing specification provider. He raised appropriate questions and solutions, facilitated all site visits, and kept excellent communications throughout with all parties concerned.”
I have a great working partnership with the college and the estates team, my input was valued and my energy, commitment and attention to detail aided in this. I am able to use my previous experience to raise additional questions and solutions. This was my first major tender for SDC. I have really engaged with all parties and the project as a whole. It’s been enjoyable, we got to the right result, the suggestions and questions asked, have been followed through and I am looking forward to seeing the final result of a finished and futureproof solution for SDC. A great result all-round before we get to the savings, this was such a fantastic result and I am proud of everything achieved by all parties so far on this project.”Andrew McGregor | Procurement Consultant
