2021 Tenet Management Procurement Service Customer Satisfaction Questionnaire
Tenet (a part of CPL Group) undertook an annual customer satisfaction questionnaire during the month of May 2021. Twenty-nine percent of Tenet’s managed service customers completed the questionnaire, and a summary of the outcomes are shared below.
- 91% of customers agreed that Tenet managed procurement service delivered value for money to their organisation.
- 100% agreed that Tenet build strong working relationships with their employees.
- 100% agreed that Tenet are accessible when they have a procurement question or requirements.
- 100% would recommend Tenet to other educational establishments.
The questionnaire also provided some glowing comments on Tenet. Those shown below are a few of those received.

National Lockdown Update
Tenet note, with regret, that the country has been placed into a national lockdown for a second time. This communication is provided to you to allow you clarity on the working practices which we will be adopting during this period (initially until mid-February 2021).
All Tenet employees, in line with new Government guidance, have been asked to work from home and a ban on travel has been implemented with immediate effect. All Tenet employees have access to Microsoft Teams and as such we can facilitate video calls with any customers needing our support as a direct replacement for face-to-face meetings.
Tenet will remain open for business, as we did during the first lockdown during 2020, so please be assured that your procurement support is still available to you. CPL Group is a small education sector owned charity and we trust that through the continued provision of our services, that we can rely upon your continued support to use our services during these times.

CPL Group Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Update from Tenet
Following the press conference delivered by the Prime Minister and his scientific advisors on the 16th March 2020, Tenet and Crescent Purchasing has met on a video conference to discuss our response as a group this morning.
Accordingly, our head office in Salford will close and staff are being set up to work from home. The office telephone number 01376 511 411 will be answered by the helpdesk team from their own location and those helpdesk staff will direct the call to the right person or take a message which will be relayed to the appropriate person.
In terms of Tenet staff who are based on site at institutions, we have taken the decision to advise them all to work from home as soon as possible, which may be today or tomorrow. This decision has not been taken lightly and we are currently ensuring that all Tenet staff are fully equipped to continue their work whilst not being on site.
We have advised our staff that this instruction will be for the next 4 weeks, however the Tenet / CPC senior management team will hold a conference call daily and any new information will be acted on appropriately and we will keep you informed of any decisions made.
We understand that these are very difficult times for the entire country and you can be assured that Tenet and CPC fully intend to keep working through these challenging times and make every effort to satisfy our customers wherever and however that is possible.

Happy, sad or thankful? A mix of emotions when a team member leaves for a new role.
Today our business says farewell and good luck to a member of our management team who has worked for us for 12 years. Kieren Stockwell-Smith joined our business at a time when Tenet were launching a new service and we needed extra resource to help us deliver the service.
Kudos must be given to Kieren because his very first customer, East Berkshire College (now known as Windsor Forest College) is still a valued customer of Tenet Education Services Limited to this day.
During his time with Tenet, Kieren has progressed from a Procurement Consultant to become a Regional Procurement Manager with responsibility for multiple accounts and employees. His dedication to the business has been faultless and he’s always been one to volunteer to take on the extra projects that was needed to continuously improve on what we do.
Every Managing Director hope’s that their team will stay with the business for years to come but the reality is some people will move on. As much as you want someone to stay, or as much as you try to give them the support and project work to bring variety to their role, some employees will outgrow what you can offer them and the time will come for them to decide to take on a new role.
There are many people within Tenet and the wider CPL Group who will miss working with Kieren and no doubt are feeling a real mix of emotions today. As the Managing Director I am feeling sadness that Kieren will no longer be part of the team, but I am feeling happy that Kieren feels his new role will fulfil his desire to try something new and I am particularly thankful to Kieren for his dedication and enthusiasm to everything he’s undertaken whilst he’s been an exceptional part of our team.
I’ve told Kieren that we’re not going to say goodbye because we intend to stay in touch. Today’s conversation ended with ‘let’s speak soon’, because we will continue to support each other by acting as a sounding board for each other should we ever want to gain advice or guidance from a trusted friend.
How do you replace a valuable member of the team? The question is difficult to answer simply because you can’t replace that individual. They bring their own unique character to the team and it is those unique qualities that make our team so good. A direct replacement also runs the risk of comparison between the two individuals which is arguably unfair. In Tenet’s situation we have discussed as a management team what our options are and taken a decision to not directly replace the post. Instead we’ve given the opportunity to three employees to progress into a Senior Procurement Consultant role and work closely with our two Regional Procurement Managers and team of Procurement Consultants to work towards continually improving standards and support to our employees and customers.

A Musical Christmas Message from Tenet Education Services

Tenet are attending the Schools and Academies Show and our preparations are well under way. We would like to invite you to join us on 13th and 14th November at the NEC in Birmingham, where we will be exhibiting on stand J7 with CPC.

Funding of up to £20,000 is available for student events – apply now
Tenet Education Services, Tenet Procurement Services and Crescent Purchasing Consortium combine any profits we make each year and they go to the education sector owned charity Crescent Purchasing Limited (registered charity number 1130461). All surplus reserves are then reinvested into the education sector.
Crescent Purchasing Limited has funding available for a limited period for student related events and activities. You are invited to apply for full or part funding ranging from £100 up to £20,000 for projects such as: Student Award(s) Sponsorship, Teaching Materials, Innovative Teaching or Learning Resources.

*All applications must be submitted by close of business on 30th September 2019. Submissions will be reviewed on a monthly basis by the evaluation panel and prioritised using the qualifying criteria.

Celebrating Volunteer Week
This week is #VolunteerWeek and in support of the great work that volunteers do across the country we would like to share some stories and celebrate the volunteer work that some of our team members at Tenet undertake in their spare time.
Sue is a Procurement Specialist who has worked for Tenet for the past 8 years. Sue is based at South Devon College. Outside of work Sue is a busy mum to two sons, but still finds time to volunteer at her local athletics club South Devon Athletic Club, coaching the junior’s section. Sue has been a member of the club for over 15 years and started volunteering to coach the junior section when her sons joined. Sue dedicates time to the club every week working with the junior members on improving their running, jumping and throwing skills.
If that wasn’t enough, Sue also volunteers time by being the Vice Chair of the Governing Body at Sacred Heart RC Primary School and Member of the Interim Academy Board at St Margaret Clitherow Primary School, which is part of the same multi academy trust. Sue’s passion for improving the education of all children is her driving force for volunteering.
Mike is a Procurement Specialist based in Bath. Mike works with our customer Palladium Academy Trust as well as working with colleague in our On Demand team providing ad-hoc procurement support to various customers in the Midlands and South West.
Mike finds time to help at 51st Bath Beavers where his son is a Beaver. The troop meets every week where Mike helps to run the night and when camping season starts Mike volunteers time at weekends as well. The reason Mike helps, apart from spending valuable time with his son, is that he joined Cubs when he was six and went all the way through to Scouts achieving the Chief Scout Award. Mike firmly believes that Scouting was a good grounding for his first career in the Army. Mike has taken a lot out of scouting and he feels it is right to be putting something back, whilst adding more with what experience Mike gained during his 24 years military service.
Myles is a Contracts & Procurement Officer at Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC). Both Tenet and CPC are owned by the same not-for-profit charity, so we want to celebrate the volunteering work which Myles provides, as well as that of our own team members. Myles has been a volunteer Master instructor at Cleveleys Taekwondo club for about 10 years coaching students of all ages and helping with the various grading assessments throughout the year.
As well as attending the weekly meets Myles volunteers time at weekends when the club has events and demonstrations. Myles’ driving force is quite simply down to the fact that he gets a lot of enjoyment out of seeing the students work through the ranks to gain their black belts, but also develop as individuals. Myles is 4th from the right on the back row.
Sara also works at Crescent Purchasing Consortium and works as a Regional Procurement Advisor in the West Midlands. We’d like to celebrate the volunteering work which Sara provides.
Sara supports her local autism charity Autism West Midlands (AWM) which offers a range of specialist services for families and carers of autistic children including an information helpline, family outreach workers and support groups.
The charity also offers support for autistic adults, including residential care homes, social groups as well as information, advice and support in the workplace.
Autism West Midlands have supported Sara’s family over the last few years and made a huge difference to their lives. Sara is keen to raise awareness about autism and hopes to help others (businesses, parents and families and the wider community) gain a deep understanding about autism and how it can affect people. Sara hopes that more understanding from others will help to make lives better for autistic people.
Sara is currently completing PhD research in this field and has already completed a PGDip so she has access to lots of academic research and information that helps her to support the charity through training sessions for local employers and by speaking at support groups and conferences. Sara commits to an average of two days per month to the charity.
Together with her children, Sara is planning a fund-raising bike ride to help raise much needed additional funding for AWM and there will be the opportunity to sponsor them in the near future!

Save ££££’s on procurement support!
Tenet Education Services’ On Demand Tender Support service is currently available at a substantial discount for education establishments, courtesy of funding from the registered charity Crescent Purchasing Limited.
Funding is available as the charity reinvests its surpluses into the education sector. Schools, academies and colleges can all apply for the discount on a first come first served basis, but be quick as the funds are available for a limited time. You will need to appoint Tenet by 30th September 2019 to take advantage of the excellent savings on offer.
Tenet’s nationwide On Demand support is designed to meet your institution’s needs and is PCR 2015 compliant. Our one-off tenders save customers 14% on average (based on cleaning tenders). £1 Million saving for South Devon College

New payment method for Tenet’s tendering service
Tenet Education Services provide expert procurement support for educational establishments. Tenet have created a new payment method for on demand tender support which enables educational establishments to receive specialised procurement support with no upfront costs. Tenet’s fee is 100% transparent and can be delayed by up to 12 months following contract award. The fee may also be included within the contract price with authorisation from the customer, and paid directly by the successful supplier.

National education purchasing consortium Crescent Purchasing Ltd are delighted to announce they have acquired procurement services provider company Tenet Education Services Ltd. The two companies will continue to run independently but this new collaboration means members can now receive an end to end procurement solution.
Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) is owned by the FE sector and promotes a member-driven ethos, while Tenet Services provide procurement solutions to drive value for money.
CPC Chairman David Pullein said:”“We are delighted to secure the acquisition of Tenet to complement the services currently provided by CPC. This will enable Crescent to provide a complete service to the education sector and continue the excellent work of Tenet Education Services.”
Currently CPC has a portfolio of approximately 60 frameworks covering a wide variety of products and services, two specialised websites and purchasing training programs. Tenet have been working with Bishops Auckland College to tender for and appoint a suitably qualified company to provide a new Finance system for the college.

John Baker, one of Tenet’s Regional Procurement Managers volunteered to coach the Barlby Raiders Under 6’s Football team which play in the Selby and District League in North Yorkshire.
Typically the U6s teams do not have a ‘kit’, however Tenet kindly agreed to sponsor the kit for the 16/17 season which can be seen in the photograph. The photograph shows John (far right hand side) as the lead coach, with another of the players dads, Sean Bugg as the assistant coach. The U6 team is currently made up of 14 boys, all school year 1 (aged 5/6).
The team is scheduled to play two mini-galas in May and June 2016, where the players will participate in a series of friendly matches against other local teams of the same age group.
‘Training takes place every Saturday morning and as head coach all the helpers & myself are DBS checked and I have undertaken the FA Level 1 coaching badge, including safeguarding and first aid.’– John Baker.

New Year, new-look Tenet
Procurement services supplier to education sector launches new brand
4 January 2016. Witham, Essex. Tenet, a leading supplier of procurement services for the education sector, announced today that it has launched a new brand and a new suite of marketing tools.
The new brand (incorporating cyan blue) replaces the old corporate colour of green. As well as a new logo the company has invested in a new website www.tenetservices.com. The website includes relevant news stories from the world of education and procurement and free downloadable resources that will assist clients to manage their procurement requirements. Visitors to the website can request important (free) industry guides such as ‘The Secrets of Successful Procurement’ and ‘Understanding Energy – What’s Your Strategy?’ with the additional benefit of being able to sign up for future installments of free industry guides.
To demonstrate the company’s commitment to staying ahead of the game Tenet (founded in 1994) has launched LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. The investment in social media helps provide clients with up to date news on the procurement industry and the education sector. New connections are encouraged (details below). Clients can also opt-in to receive copies of Tenet’s client newsletter.
